inside, feels like home
Dark wooden beams, an alcove painted moss green, wicker lamps that pattern the walls, a terrace with a painted jaguar and paraglider. A boutique hostel run by a young Colombian team, one block from the square.
01 · The rooms
The photos the hostel posted of its private rooms say most of it: warm light, beams, a rattan mirror, robes and rolled towels, a bathroom with a hot shower. They're representative: each category has its own photos in the booking engine.

Beams, rattan and wood: the light in the private rooms.

Details: robes, towels and another wicker lamp.

A private bathroom: hot shower and terracotta tile.

02 · The terrace
On the terrace, two murals: a yellow jaguar among teal leaves and pink flowers, and a paraglider flying with the word “Colombia”. Breakfast is served there 07:00–10:00 at extra cost (COP 14,000 on Hostelworld and Booking.com as of 22 Oct 2026). The menu changes: arepas, eggs, fruit, crepes, juice.

03 · Hanging out
Beanbags, comfy furniture and a big book-exchange library.
Board games and table football for quiet evenings.
For reading, playing guitar or watching the afternoon go by.
Equipped, open 10:00 to 21:00.
Around the clock, plus filtered water so you can refill instead of buying plastic.
For late arrivals, a map, or booking tomorrow's river.
As described by the hostel on Hostelworld (22 Oct 2026).
04 · The vibe
The hostel calls itself “young, social and boutique-style, without being a party hostel”. There's a house plan most evenings and, per its Booking.com house rules, quiet hours from 22:00 to 07:00.
See the social weekReviews keep saying the same thing: a warm team that knows San Gil and helps you plan. We don't show names or faces we haven't been given permission to use.
“El personal es muy cálido, amable y servicial. Te dan muchas opciones para conocer San Gil y alrededores.”The staff are very warm, kind and helpful. They give you lots of options for exploring San Gil and around. (our translation)
“Centrally located but peaceful at night.”
05 · The view
One of the hostel's story highlights shows the cathedral towers against the sunset. The photo is a few years old and soft; the cathedral is still one block away.
